Don’t worry, it’s not contagious and it won’t bite.
TBAWP stands for Tampa Bay Area Writing Project.
We are the local chapter of the National Writing Project – a nationwide organization of educators which “focuses the knowledge, expertise, and leadership of our nation’s educators on sustained efforts to improve writing and learning for all learners.” Once a teacher attends a writing project summer institute, they join the ranks of our teacher consultants, who share in a community of reflective practice that values the power of the written word, conduct professional development for educators of all disciplines and so much more – including facilitating our youth writers programs!
The Tampa Bay Area Writing Project was founded in 1998 by Dr. Pat Jones an associate professor of English Education at the University of South Florida. We are a proud partner of USF’s College of Education. Go bulls!
