Our Mission: TBAWP is a nonprofit professional development organization of teachers teaching teachers located at the University of South Florida, Tampa. In-service sessions, young writers camps, and the Invitational Leadership Institute are the core of the organization’s work to foster life-long writers.

In-Service Sessions Addressing Writing Across the Curriculum K-12
- The Tampa Bay Area Writing Project (TBAWP) is a local site of the National Writing Project. We provide quality professional development to teachers in K-12 settings.
- Since 2005, TBAWP has provided
- 43 sets of in-services: (5 sessions for 3 hours each)
- 135 in-services meeting with 2053 teachers
- A total of 1,324,185 hours!
- As a leader in our profession, we have developed and are offering in-services to address writing across the curriculum, in K-12 settings, anchored in the Florida State Standards.
- TBAWP is a partner with McKeel Academy, recently (2013) awarded the Instructional Best Practices, Grades 6-12 Grant.
