Creation

by Mieke Valk

inspired by Kara Funcheon’s mini-lesson and Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam

Reaching down from the heavens, the creator yearns for connection.
Surrounded by his cherubs, with a protective arm around the gift to
His design, he attempts to make contact with that which he has fashioned in his likeness.
The creation rests on the earth, casually, languidly reaching out to make connection.
Is this a premonition of humanity to come, trying to touch God but never quite able to reach?

The artist interns the curse of creation, and the incessant yearning for sublime connection.
