In keeping with our mission statement, “To nurture a community of writers, young and old, novice and expert, students and teachers,” we at the Tampa Bay Area Writing Project are proud to announce that we are offering a new version of our successful I.C.E. Writers Camp model: I.C.E. Writing For All. With the idea of inclusivity in mind, this program will provide supports to students in need of help to focus and create. We invite students on the spectrum, campers with ADHD, and other young authors with exceptionalities as well as anyone else who merely says, “I.C.E? June 15th to 26th? At USF? That’s perfect!”
The program will have all the characteristics of a typical day at I.C.E. Writers camp: daily quickwrites, lessons from our amazing facilitators, lots of time write and meetings with revision buddies. The spirit of the camp in no way changes: this is a place for lovers of words, young people with stories to tell, and anyone who wants to use their voice and write.
Actually that’s the point. We’re making a few changes, and making sure that we have facilitators with experience in the right areas, but other than that, it’s I.C.E! Join us. Apply here!
