Day 5 at W.A.T.E.R. Write Your Own Adventure: Ending with the Beginning

The last day of our Write Your Own Adventure camp was a return to the beginning. Just as with our I.C.E. Campers, those attending W.A.T.E.R. have the opportunity to be published in our E.A.R.T.H.-produced annual anthology. The campers learning all about Choose Your Own Adventure have an extra special opportunity. Using the web apps we spoke about yesterday their stories have been published digitally and they can continue to edit them and add to them. For their anthology page, the writers spent the day polishing their openers so they were as successful as possible. We learned all about model beginnings to stories (classic as well as CYOA) and after peer feedback, time to revise and edit, finally those were sent off for publication along with the very first choices of their stories.

Readers will just have to scan the accompanying QR code to read more!

We facilitators had a great time with this little group (our smallest camp of the summer) and we’re excited for next week, when most of these young writers return and are joined by many others. We’ll be in the super snazzy iTeach lounge. Our theme?
