Alexis Perno has been coming to ICE camps for YEARS. In addition to being an all-star young journalist at Plant HS (recently awarded Best of the Best for “Short Story and Illustration” and Third Place for “On-the-Spot Press Conference” among other honors by the Florida State Press Association), she has made the Heard Em Say Brave New Voices Slam Poetry Team, a group of Tampa’s best young performance poets.
They will be traveling to Houston in July for the National Conference and competition.
